Our Mission
TaeCare Inc. empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and young adults transitioning out of foster care by providing essential resources, practical life-skills training, mentorship, and compassionate support. Our mission is to foster independence, dignity, and opportunity so every person can thrive on their own unique journey.

Leadership

Shanta Denard Clay, LCSW
Founder
Shanta Denard Clay is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's most challenging moments. She has worked across settings including the VA, VCU Hospital, and Sentara Hospital, with populations spanning children, couples, families, military personnel, and adults, addressing needs such as substance abuse, trauma, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.
She brings a warm, compassionate, solution-focused, and goal-oriented approach, believing that everyone has struggles to overcome and that healing begins with connection. She holds an MSW, is EMDR certified, and is currently a doctoral student (2027).
